Dayhop finds day trips out of your airport and shows you where to book them. There are no accounts and no sign-ups, and we don’t sell anything ourselves.
What we store in your browser
These are needed for the site to work, so they’re set without asking:
- Your search settings — the address or postcode you type into “Where do you start?”, and your door-to-airport time and cost. They stay in your own browser and are never sent to us.
- City photos — the photo chosen for each city, cached so pages load faster.
- Your cookie choice — so we don’t ask again on every visit.
All of this lives in your browser’s local storage. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Ads and booking partner cookies (only with your permission)
If you accept all cookies, Dayhop shows ads from Google AdSense. Google sets cookies to measure and choose them, and you can change what Google uses at My Ad Center. Choose “Essential only” and no ad script is loaded at all.
If you accept all cookies, we load a script from Travelpayouts, our affiliate network. When you click through to a booking site it records that the visit came from Dayhop, so that if you book, the site pays us a small commission. It never costs you more than going direct. If you choose “Essential only”, the script isn’t loaded at all — the booking links still work, we just don’t get paid for them.
Change your mind at any time: reopen your cookie choices, or use “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the home page.
When you leave Dayhop
Booking, tour and compensation links take you to other companies — Aviasales, Kiwi.com, KKday and AirHelp among them. Once you’re on their site, their own privacy policy and cookies apply, not ours.
What our server sees
- Your searches — airports and dates are sent to our server so it can ask the flight sources for prices. They aren’t tied to you, and we don’t build a profile.
- Your IP address — used briefly, in memory, to stop one visitor overloading the site, and by our host, Cloudflare, to serve and protect the site. We don’t keep server logs of your visits.
- Your location — only if you press “Use my location”, and only to turn the coordinates into a street address for your journey to the airport. Your browser asks you first, and we don’t store it.
Prices and flight times come from Aviasales and Google Flights; maps and directions come from Google; photos come from Wikimedia Commons and Unsplash. Those requests are made by our server where we can, so your details stay here — except the directions map, which your browser loads from Google.
Your rights
Because we don’t hold accounts or profiles, there’s usually nothing of yours for us to look up or delete. If you think we hold something about you, or you want to ask a question about this page, email you@example.com. If you’re in the UK you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
